Angie WOD

What’s not to love about a Saturday – if you are a THPL community member you know that you have more time that you can allot to your fitness focus.  Long runs, long rides, long hikes, you name it and you can fit it in.  It is just a matter of planning and execution.  And so today started like any other Saturday – a 16 mile run, 100 pull-ups and 400 crunches.  About 2.5 hours and I felt great.  With a lot of other stuff to get to I logged into email and started digging in.  An email from a fellow THPL’er caught my eye.  WOD – Angie was the title.  Curious as you might expect I opened it and found the following cross-fit challenge.  WOD –workout of the day – got it  - Angie, a benchmark WOD to be used to monitor progress over time – OK   The description “a straightforward WOD that combines basic bodyweight exercises for a killer full body workout.  Complete all reps of one exercise before moving to the next.  Should target completion in 20 minutes:  The workout”

100 Pull-ups…100 Squats….100 Sit-ups…..100 Push-ups. 

Wow, that one seems quite the workout.  Should I try it today?  Might it be easier if I did it when rested?  Then the THPL mindset kicked in and I decided to give it a go.  I knew the pull-ups had to go first – they were the make or break it if I was to finish in under 20 minutes.  I needed to break 10 minutes to have a shot.  Stop watch started and 18:40 minutes later I was finished.  It went by in a flash, it was hard, and I was happy to be done.  And I was also reminded that there is little reason not to give it a try.  Let me know if you give it a go.  Would love to hear what you think about it.  Here are my stats.

Squats – 100 – 13:50

Sit-ups – 100 – 16:40

Pushup – 100 – 18:40
