Life, learning and fitness – it all hinges on nutrition and mental state.  When they are balanced we do well and when they are not it gets tougher to live the THPL life.  What has always been interesting to consider is that there is a lot of stuff that goes on inside us that we do not fully understand.  And as we work to improve our performance we need more and more clarity on what does make an impact in our lives and in our bodies.  One way to improve our internal workings relates to antioxidants and the proper consumption of them on a regular basis.  Antioxidants are the hot buzzword in the health food world these days. They really are the go-to nutrient everyone wants more of. You can spend a lot of of money at the store loading up on vitamins and supplements that boast a high antioxidant content, or you can just eat some great natural foods and drink that contain the right amounts of truly natural antioxidants.

 Some examples include, spinach, quinoa, kale, acai, goji berries, red wine, dark chocolate, walnuts, almonds, cacao, broccoli (my favorite), and berries are of which are amazing for you.  In addition, you can explore and research other “newer” antioxidant rich foods and have some fun exploring what can really help you achieve better performance; your best version of THPL.  Chia seeds (remember these), artichoke hearts, black tea and turmeric are examples of some other non-traditional antioxidant rich foods.  Have fun exploring and Happy eating!
